The BDS/GNSS Open Laboratory was formerly known as the Satellite navigation simulation and testing open laboratory,which officially renamed On 19 May 2016.

BDS/GNSS Open Laboratory co-founded by the Beijing Satellite Navigation Center, the Institute of Electromechanical Engineering and Automation of The National University of Defense Technology, Tsinghua University, The 41st research institute of China electron,ic technology group,the space electronic engineering center of the Ninth Institute of CASC,Navigation equipment Hunan Engineering Research Center and Xi'an National Civil Aerospace Industrial Base,Which was the first area of Beidou resources open sharing platform completed directly under the academician of Jiadong Sun concern and guidance.

Jiadong Sun is now the Director Emeritusas,Shusen Tan is the committee director,Yuanxi Yang is expert Committee.BDS/GNSS Open Laboratory with the support of Tan Sousheng academic support in the construction academician workstation,On 27 April 2016, the the first academician workstation of the BDS/GNSS Open Laboratory was foundation with the support of Shusen Tan.

Since its establishment,BDS/GNSS Open Laboratory always adhering to the development concept of integration, open, cooperative and win-win, Goals and objectives are joint advantage units, the release of high quality resources, innovative personnel training, boost the development, The core mission is to promote the application of the BDS.it is devoted to open and share the quality resources and to unite training of the talents. It pushed hard to build and share for equipment, data,expert and research resources of the satellite navigation field. It build the Win-win military and civilian integration models of the government, parks, universities and enterprises according to innovation and boost the vigorous development of the China's BDS industry.

BDS/GNSS Open Laboratory is actively promoting the construction of sub-laboratories and public data centers together with the regional advantage units and the government and the park, and releasing the resources of high quality such as quality instruments and data to all the students in the university and the enterprises and researchers of park. At present,BDS/GNSS Open Laboratory has completed the construction of four sub-laboratories include Sub-Laboratory of Beijing, Sub-Laboratory of Changsha, Sub-Laboratory of Xi’an and Sub-Laboratory of Quanzhou. And we are planning the construction of Beijing Comprehensive Laboratory, Sub-Laboratory of Radio Detection Center, Sub-Laboratory of Huizhou, Sub-Laboratory of SinoGNSS, Dedicated Data Center and Public Data Center.

In future,BDS/GNSS Open Laboratory will promote the open sharing of quality resources by further jointing all the sub-laboratories, gradually formatting Sustainable BeiDou ecological pattern that is basing on the public data center, and the laboratory is the regional radiation center.BDS/GNSS Open Laboratory will gather the national resources to promote the development of the BeiDou area application.

The next five to ten years,BDS/GNSS Open Laboratory will be with the vision of Helping 100 universities build satellite navigation major, Inviting 100 experts to build the education system, jointing 100 research institutes to open the sharing resources, covering 100 testing enterprises to provide professional support, servicing 100 science parks to help to the Innovation and entrepreneurship.BDS/GNSS Open Laboratory will work hard to build a platform of open sharing of talents, technologies and services in the field of BeiDou navigation and simulation, and improve the industrialization and international influence of the BeiDou navigation system.
